Summary
How far will someone go to protect those they love? How can a bright-eyed child be turned into the family outcast? Maybe it is suffering or solitude. Maybe it is a combination of the two. When Zeus’s eyes are drawn to Athena, he cannot allow himself to act on these feelings…not towards his pure child at least. This leaves the second eldest, Ares, at the king’s mercy. More and more, Athena watches her little brother change into someone she no longer recognizes. Perhaps she was a bad judge of character or perhaps there is more to the story that her brother’s cloak always shielded her from.
