   Summary

   The crown does not rest easy on Thorin's troubled brow. A new, rising star on his council has charmed Thorin's former champions while his bizarre, unwelcome overtures toward the king have made Thorin's winter without Bilbo, Fili, and Kili far more difficult than he had ever anticipated.
