    Cadenza (kəˈdɛnzə)

    Noun
    1. a virtuoso solo passage occurring near the end of a piece of music, formerly improvised by the soloist but now usually specially composed.
    2. Slang
    a fit or tantrum

‘Because–’ Yoongi starts, but realises his tone is loud and harsh and that’s giving Namjoon exactly what he wants. So he takes a deep breath and another elongated sip of whiskey before starting again. ‘Look he's a classical musician, right? They're always dickheads. Just because their parents paid through the nose to get someone to teach them “Every Good Boy Deserves Food”. You can’t just buy talent. Fucking wankers.’

'Wait, didn't you use to take piano lessons?' Namjoon smirks.

'Yes, but I’m a wanker with talent.'

Namjoon nods. ‘I know. I’ve walked in on you too many times. Impressive.’

Read this years ago and re-read it again. I've forgotten how I enjoyed reading this gem of a fic. Bookmarked it at last. Good thing I found you again.

    Summary

Jungkook is smart for his age. He knows this. His Daddy said so. He can see things beyond the mask and hear the truth under lies. It scares his Appa how smart he is that Jungkook decides to stay quiet with his observations.

“Heeyeon nana,” he whispers over his nanny’s story. They were reading The Great Gilly Hopkins that Jungkook got from his Uncle Namjoon.

Heeyeon smiles at him, tucking the boy in her arms. “Yes, Kookie?”

“Do Daddy and Appa love each other?” he innocently asks.

Heeyeon still has the smile but Jungkook could see the confusion swimming in her eyes. “Why yes, of course.”

That is a lie. Like the marriage photos of his parents in the living room or the family picture they took during Jungkook’s first birthday.

Everything is a lie and for the first time, Jungkook realizes that he is not the only one staying quiet with their observations.

Or in which Jungkook discovers that his parents were in an arranged marriage.

    Summary

To the rest of the world, Seokjin is the life of the party—the charismatic, dorky friend who always has a joke ready to mask whatever he's feeling. To Yoongi, however, he’s just a coward hiding behind a shield of forced indifference.
Seokjin knew it was a dangerous game from the start. He knew that in the end, the joke would be on him, but nothing really stopped him from playing anyway. He thought he was a master of keeping his distance, convinced he could handle the heat without getting burned, until Yoongi finally stopped chasing him.
