Rey's determined her second year of college will be different. She has great friends, her own apartment, an amazing roommate (although Rose's Soulmate isn't Rey's favorite), and she's finally been given her own column in the school's e-newspaper (she can learn about hockey for this opportunity!). There's only one problem, and it's always the same problem... Ben Solo. Hockey captain, her pre-college Bully, and the man Rey thinks about more than she should.
Rey doesn't care how much he says he's changed; Rey can't forgive, and she will never forget. Ben Solo broke her, and no amount of time in the penalty box can redeem him.

She almost laughed at the way he said it, like he was disclosing a medical condition.
“The results?” she asked, playing dumb.
“From the application, Rey.”
She could have pushed, but he was already edging toward frustration.
“Oh. You mean the LoveMatch app?”

“I’m leaving,” she blurted out.
“Leaving? What do you mean?” He rubbed his jaw with his hand, trying to wake up. “When will you be back?”
“You’re not getting it, Finn. I’m leaving.” She inhaled the familiar scent of the stable, wishing what she was saying wasn’t true. “I’m leaving...for good.”
Rey watched as her best friend’s shoulders drew back, straightening his spine as he did. A bitter reality was sinking in before the rooster had even crowed. Finn was her protector, her keeper, her friend. If she left him, she would be lost in the world.
“You can’t...you need to stay here!” he blurted out as the words Rey spoke finally woke him up.
“The princess has been betrothed, and I am to go with her to her new home.” A sob escaped from deep within. “I can’t let them find out about me!”
