When you faced the villain Red Riot in a crowd, he was powerful and dangerous. He stayed calm, completely focused, no matter how you or the police tore apart his plans. In your battles, he was beyond unbreakable and damn near untouchable. So much so that the news labeled it more of a dance than a battle.
When you faced Red Riot alone, he became Kirishima. Sharp words turned to praise, hopeful invitations for you to join him. Not just to switch sides but to be at his side.
You weren’t sure when growling threats and fights turned into invitations to dinner with eager descriptions of how he would make it worth your time. Recently, it seemed Kirishima was far more interested in tucking his weapons away and fighting you hand-to-hand whenever you found yourselves without an audience. If a few of those times you allowed him to pin you to a wall and make promises of the night you would share, it didn’t matter. No one else was there to see how you wavered.
