She held her hands out like her point was obvious, but the others just blinked. Bart hummed, stroking his chin thoughtfully. “I think I get it. You’re saying we escape to the woods and make a blood pact under the full moon to change our fates.” He wiggled his fingers like doing a magic spell and Cassie rolled her eyes.
“No.” She tilted her head. “Well, kind of.”
“Kind of? What part of that is kind of—?”
“—Not the blood pact, but the changing our fates thing.” Cassie clarified. “It’s not like we’re bound to the paths we’re on. If our old goals aren’t working out, maybe we need new goals?”
