Summary
It was normal for Mirabel to avoid public functions. Alma noticed that she was uncomfortable in crowds, which could be because she didn’t fit in much with the family.
But, her absence in the family photo celebrating Antonio’s new gift bothered Alma greatly, even if she didn’t let on about it. Mirabel had taken him to his door, and she deserved to be beside him to celebrate this new miracle.
So, why was she absent here? It didn’t make sense. Why would she draw attention to herself and then avoid a picture capturing the moment Antonio was blessed?
Alma wasn’t going to let this slide. She would get to the bottom of why Mirabel stayed out of family functions and pictures.
Even without some magic gift, she was still a Madrigal. Surely, she knew that.

Alma notices Mirabel wasn’t in the family photo. While correcting this error, she finds out there’s more underneath the surface of an absence in a photo.

Summary
Emma feels pretty certain that in a past life she must've done something really terrible. Like, maybe she was Judas or Brutus or Benedict Arnold or something. Because bad karma is about the only explanation she can come up with for her cosmic bad luck. She is surely being punished for something, otherwise she wouldn't currently be stuck in an elevator with Regina, who is quite happily listing all the ways that this is entirely Emma's fault.
