Summary
After Darth Ruin's demise, Darth Cinder must wrangle what remains of his disarrayed Sith Order and escape the frozen hell of Rhen Var alive. It's easier said than done; her Shadow Hands are at each other's throats, the military high command is in shambles, and the newcomer into her fold, Darth Cronos, is a dangerous mystery. Worst of all: the ancient witch Darth Phobos haunts Cinder's mind. Getting her forces off of Rhen Var is one thing; saving herself is another matter entirely.
Across the galaxy, the Hutts have retaken Nar Shaddaa. The scoundrel Lynora Feldt, recently returned from a stint with Mandalore the Unassailable's marauders, falls in with the Gand assassin Midge. Together, they plan a heist to reclaim Mandalore's armor from Urga the Hutt's palace... but stealing from the Hutts is never an easy thing.

Summary
Inspired by the "X-Wing" series of novels and comics, this is the first in a planned series of TIE Fighter novels following the exploits of the famed 181st Imperial Fighter Group. After the defection of Baron Fel at the Battle of Brentaal IV, the 181st must find its role in the crumbling Empire. The unit is sent to the Outer Rim on a mission with unclear objectives, where its new pilots, newly led by Turr Phennir and the enigmatic ace pilot Maarek Stele, will find either glory, death, or more curious things...
This story is written to be fully compliant with the pre-2015 Star Wars Legends (Expanded Universe) continuity, as well with all stories in the Star Wars ReExpanded project (in particular "Hour of Judgment" by HandofThrawn45 and the "Dorset Konnair" series by WraithFourteen).
