The Kingdom of El is at peace.
It has been ten years since the White Martian Invasion and the formation of the League of Nations. Queen Lara is preparing to finally step down, and pass the crown to Prince Kal.
Prince Bruce has spent much of his time traveling abroad, returning to Gotham Castle intermittently for months or years at a time before venturing back out into the world.
This time is different. This time, he’s returning for an extended stay.
Or: the tale of two princes finding themselves and, in the process, each other.

TourettesDog wrote a prompt on the Haunting Heroes Discord server, and I took it and ran with it.
It’s far from done, I’m just writing scenes in no particular as I figure the story out. These are snippets of what I’ve got so far.

Summary
It starts with an offhand comment. Something he barely catches.
“See you next week, Phantom.”
It drags Danny to a halt. He hovers over the school, locking eyes with his teacher, Mr. Lancer. There's a small, knowing smile on his face that has dread pooling in his core.
He opens his mouth to reply— shuts it. With a shake of his head, Phantom darts off for the open air. Just one quick lap before returning to school.
It does little to clear his head.

The full moon shines above the Sansretour Valley. Geralt takes on an impromptu contract, riding by a gaggle of merchants, he is beseeched by them to bring down a beast that's flown overhead, terrifying them.
But what—or who—he finds in the Caroberta woods is entirely unexpected; although, in hindsight, it should have been obvious.

“Fly,” Geralt said, giving him back his hair ribbon. “Fly, vampire.”
Regis turned away.
But before he did, he looked back at the witcher—briefly, longingly—and smiled.
He wrapped himself up in his cloak and began to disappear, carried away as though by the wind, metamorphizing.
Black, leathery wings, spanning about five yards tip-to-tip, took off in chaotic flight towards Beauclair. The moon sunk lower in the sky, the half-frozen valley glistened. A resounding, spine-chilling screech echoed through the night.
Geralt, this time, had time to marvel.
So he did.

Summary
Geralt decided to take on contracts during the company’s stay in Beauclair, but in the months prior, he’d lost all his witchering-related equipment. For fighting monsters, he has to start fresh: with newly-forged, newly-tailored gear, befitting of a witcher.
And Regis has never seen a witcher before. Or, at least, one dressed for the job.

Regis smiled. “Extremely fitting for a witcher. Extremely. To disperse the gloom, and…”
Eyes, black as night.
“Penetrate the darkness.”
“The darkness demands it,” Geralt spoke as if from memory. “As Chaos. A witcher is an agent of Good, that he might destroy the Evil he encounters, that he might bring Order. It’s a witcher’s ideal, that he might… disrupt darkness.”
“All darknesses?”
Not all, Geralt thought, never all of it. Because it’s impossible. And more than that, because there are some darknesses that are pure and beautiful, that shouldn’t be disturbed, shouldn’t be met with the gleam of a sword.
That’s not a witcher’s ideal, though.
It’s mine.

There were some discussions season 1 that whenever Jaskier shows up the genre changes to something lighter. I think we had a golden opportunity when Jaskier and Ciri travel to Kaer Morhen to shift from a dark teenage coming of age genre to comedic hijinks.
