Summary
Penny was silent, watching the bikers with wary eyes, her heart thumping in her chest as she cautiously reached next to her to grab her backpack. They needed to run, to get out of there, before they spotted them.
Bolt bared his teeth, side-stepping backwards to block Penny with his body, flank brushing against her leg as the light flickered from a bright red to green. They revved their engines and started to move forward, creeping along with the traffic in front and behind them, moving further and further away.
Without wasting another second, Penny shot up from her chair, so fast it almost toppled over, and startling Bolt, who whirled around to stare up at her with wide eyes, his aggressive look turning into one of surprise. He turned his head again to stare up the street in the direction the bikers had gone, eyes narrowed and muzzle scrunched.
The other three veered into the left lane, all six turning in the same direction, back towards them.

A late-morning rest is interrupted when Calico's henchmen track Bolt and Penny down, leading to a chase through the city with dire consequences.

Summary
Hello there! This is the first of my work here in AO3. This is a short oneshot I wrote in 2021 based on the ending of the book: Dreams Come To Life from the Bendy and The Ink Machine franchise. I loved this book so much that I had to write a little fic about it.
This was first posted by me on Tumblr, and was originally going to be part of a oneshot series called: Memoirs Of The Ink Machine. I only ended up writing this one, but maybe sometime in the future I'll revisit the idea.

“Soon,” she repeated, putting more emphasis on the word. There have been…several setbacks during tests— moments of instability.” Her response was clearly one Calico didn’t take kindly to. His jaw set, and he narrowed his eyes. “The effects varied from test subject to test subject, did it not? Or have you forgotten the reason behind your eye?”
