Summary
Crepus Ragnvindr dies in his son’s arms.
The name tastes like ash on Kaeya’s tongue. Crepus gifted the latter half of it to him when he was young, when he was still too new to the family to understand the significance of what it means to be a part of it. When he is older and has realized the ardent ferocity with which the Ragnvindrs love their own, the name becomes a searing brand on his heart, a mark that burns him with a sweet viciousness that he cannot help but cherish no matter how much it hurts to know that it is not truly his.
anagnorisis /ˌænəɡˈnɒrɪsɪs/ — n. (literary; Ancient Greek: ἀναγνώρισις, “recognition”) in the context of the plot of a narrative, the moment when a character realizes the truth of another character’s identity or their own situation; “a change from ignorance to knowledge, producing friendship or enmity between the persons marked by the poet for good or bad fortune” (Aristotle, Poetics 1452a)
On Diluc’s eighteenth birthday, Kaeya scours himself of his lies again and again and again, but he doesn’t realize the worst one until it is almost too late.

Summary
“If this is true, Kaeya,” Diluc said. “If you are here to spy, to do their bidding, to become a threat to Mondstadt, tell me –” he nudged his claymore further towards Kaeya, so the blade lightly touched the shirt on his chest. “Why I shouldn’t take you out, right now?”

Summary
Only the rain makes any noise for the space of a few breaths. Then, “You’ll make an oath breaker of me, too.”
Kaeya smiles something that doesn’t reach his eyes. “No, I won’t. You’re only beholden to your vows to protect Mond. All the others…you made to a perjurer. It doesn’t count if you act against them.”
“You don’t mean that.” A scarlet desperation curdles in Diluc’s stomach, pretending he can speak things into reality if he just says them enough times. “You don’t. You can’t.”
“I do,” Kaeya says like it’s reassuring. He draws his sword, twirls it in that achingly familiar way. “You have a choice in the matter, older brother. Here is a threat to Mond in front of you. Will you break your vows to protect our shared home?”
An eighteenth birthday, a fight, and some advice, not taken.

Summary
Can there really be too many retellings of Kaeya and Diluc's falling out?
Jumping on the bandwagon.
As grounded in canon character stories as I could get.
Everyone else thinks that the rain is the grief of the heavens, weeping for the Master’s passing.Kaeya thinks it will keep raining until he, too, is cleansed away.
