    Izuku watches his childhood and current best friend get murdered by the sludge villain while the heroes hold him back.

    They say there was nothing they could have done, they didn’t have “suitable quirks”.

    Izuku’s anger fuels his need to show them that your quirk, or lack there of, shouldn’t stop you from saving a life.

    He loses more and more of himself as he speeds towards the next fight, the next villain. All in the hopes of keeping his dead friends dream alive.

    Will it all come crashing down around him? Will he lose himself completely and become nothing more than a shell of his former self? Or will he find people in this life who are willing to help him back to the surface before he drowns?

    Its still just a bit awkward that following his dream meant facing off against his villain family. Only, Izuku thought that he would have a few years before that. Not just three days into his school career.

    Sir Nighteye was as straight laced as they come. Despite his appreciation for humor, he was a strict, to the letter sort of hero that never, absolutely never, deviated from his usual moral code.

    So, as the detective took a giant gulp of his cold coffee, he can easily justify his reaction to the Pro’s words and the truth that pinged in his head as the man spoke them. “I am currently plotting a homicide.”

    The detective spat the disgusting coffee all across his desk.

    It was just supposed to be a normal goddamn Tuesday.

Codependent. Inseparable. Though technically not brothers by blood, they were a team, equals. In their eyes, they could never be anything less than that.

    And one day, they would step out into the world, side by side, as heroes.

    The main thing he remembered about that time was how easy it was to be happy.

    Then he got his quirk.
