“You can borrow my car. I’m, um. Not going home for Thanksgiving this year.”
“What? Why?” Sarah asks, stepping in front of him, “-since when? Why haven’t you told me?”
He watches her cross her arms and shrugs.
“They’re going to my grandmother’s in Georgia this year.” he says, “-too much of a trek for me, so I’m staying behind.”
Sarah narrows her eyes at him, suspiciously.

“You’re not going to ask Joel if-”
“Be serious for a second.” Sarah says. “-Why on earth would you think you couldn’t come to ours instead?”
