She gave one nod, a smile, and then stood upright. Her gaze flicked right to where Cassia stood, her expression an obvious sickly-sweet false smile, and then left to meet Solus'.
Only the instant it did, everything seemed to abruptly still. The intention to turn and walk away seemed to slip from her mind in an instant. The false smile she'd forced up onto her lips did the same.

Those eyes. She'd never slept with a man, not even Claudius, and yet...
