Summary
Lupin dreams too big, too early, and swan dives like Icarus off a too high castle wall and hits the water hard. It ensnares him, mingles with red, and he knows he isn’t going to make it. Knows that he’s crawling to death’s door as he scrambles up the muddy bank with spikes in his back and pins and needles itching along his fingers. He’s miscalculated and now he’s going to pay the price.
Until remarkably he doesn’t.
