Kratos doesn't reach the Travel Room doors in time.
Now his son is lost to him, swept away by Baldur and held captive in the grasp of the Æsir. Only the gods are a lot more hospitable than Atreus imagined - and certainly nowhere near as bad as his father ever made them out to be. This is really what it's like to be a god, isn't it?
While Kratos is doing everything in his power to bring his son home, Atreus is relishing in everything that was denied to him for so long. And deep inside, a seed of resentment begins to bloom.
