Summary
Your world is gone. Your life is forfeit. Those are two things I cannot change, the voice warned him gently. I can give you another version of your family. But I must tell you, this world and the people you will see won't be the same. A silent death may be better than this fate.
Once, Tim had dreamt of silent death. Once, Tim had yearned for unearned peace.
Tim didn’t speak, and still the voice sighed. I see. I will choose a good world for you. You will fall in love with it. It will break your heart. It spoke with certainty that rang with great weight. Do you still want it?
Tim thought of family. Of loneliness. Of all that lay in between.
Forcibly, painfully, Tim parted his lips. Breath rattled free, and he croaked out, “Yes.”
Oh, child, it mourned, and then a hand pressed against his chest and a scream ripped free from his body. Like the howling of a beast.
***
Tim's family, planet, and universe are destroyed in a matter of years. He dies, too, in the end, but is given a second chance at existence in a different world. A world where Damian is the first Robin and everything is backwards.
He takes it.

Summary
He dreams of violence. He dreams of Jabber.
They are touching and they are twisting and they are becoming one. Skin presses against hot skin, and Zanka's craving has no end. Jabber breaks his spine, and in turn, Zanka rips his heart free from his chest. They tear each other to pieces, and it's all Zanka has ever wanted. They are equally destroyed, equally broken to nothing. "You," Jabber whispers, and Zanka cannot tell where he begins and Jabber ends. "I want you."
He wakes up and still he burns.

Summary
“My life,” Tim splayed his palm over his quivering chest. “I trade myself for him.”
“You?” The deity scoffed. “I demand an equal trade, mortal. Do you think that your life is equal to that of a Kryptonian? What miracle have you that would make you equal to the clone of Superman?”
Tim wanted to scream. He wanted to beat his fists bloody. He wanted Kon back and if he had to kill a god to do it then he would. He would do it gladly.
But he couldn't snap here. Not as close to this miracle as he was. He needed the deity and he needed this trade and that amounted to more than any of his trembling wants. “Ask anything of me,” he promised, gaze unfaltering beneath the deity’s judgment. “And I will deliver.”
Or
In this world, Kon died and stayed dead. In this world, Tim loses his mind trying to get him back, and he ends up striking a deal with a deity who grants his desire. For a price. One that he doesn’t realize the true weight of until it’s too late.

Summary
Timothy’s body was nothing but a byproduct of violence and death. The pit healed his wounds but left scars that burned worse. He was ugly, he knew, but it hardly bothered him. Ugly things were real and permanent. They marred the world, left their mark wherever they went. It was not his ugliness that unnerved him. It was his simplistic mind that he was ashamed of.
His body was broken but his mind was carved empty. He’d been brilliant once, he was sure. Sometimes Ra’s told him stories of his past intelligence, of the times when he called him Detective. Timothy listened to those stories with childish envy, unable to comprehend how the person Ra’s spoke of with such pride had been him.
Sometimes, he thought the Bat might love him. Then he would remember that he wasn't the one he looked at with such soft eyes and he'd think of the Tim that the Bat wanted with such visceral hatred that he scared himself.
or
Timothy forgets. Ra's lies. His family is there for him, come hell or high water.

Summary
Tim was not a person. He was not of flesh and blood or of warmth and soul. He was Batman’s shadow, and he would die under the growing light.
Bruce Wayne had been born to loving parents and a warm manor. Batman had been born of Gotham’s filthiest darkness. Tim had been born with the Dark Knight, slipping through the crevices of his dark shadow beneath his fluttering cape.
This was all true in both the most metaphorical and literal of ways. Tim straddled the blurry line of what was real and what lied between poetic lips. He could not, after all, remember being born to Janet Drake in a hospital bed as Jack Drake held tight to his wife’s hand. What he did remember was shuddering to life one dark night in the shadow that pooled beneath Batman.
or
Tim is both human and shadow, his consciousness alive in two different forms. In any body, he commits his life to Batman, an unkind fate that he wouldn't give up for the world.
