Summary
Natasha Romanoff's life was one long, continuous traumatic experience. She learned early on that trusting anyone or anything only led to pain.
As fate would have it, she crossed paths with an archer in a Belgrade alley, and it changed everything.
He offered her a way out. A second chance. Freedom.
If only she can trust that it's real.
-------------------------------------
Clint Barton wasn't planning on bringing home a traumatized assassin the way other people would adopt a cat. It just kinda happened that way.
He is in no way qualified for this. She needs professional help, not some circus brat with a bow.
Trust is hard.
But maybe he can teach her how, the way someone once did for him.

Summary
“You don’t have to do this,” he said, his tone softer now. “Whatever they’ve told you, whatever they’ve made you believe—it doesn’t have to be this way.”
Natasha’s expression hardened. “You think you can save me? That’s not how this works. That’s not how this ends.”
Clint met her eyes, his tone steady despite the strain. “Then prove me wrong. Make your own choice. Right here. Right now.”
Natasha’s resolve wavered for a split second, and Clint saw it.
“There’s no place for me in the world,” she murmured, almost to herselfNatasha Romanoff used to have nothing. Then she got this, and she has no idea what to do with it.

Summary
They stood like that for a while, pointing guns at each other, when the stranger moved closer. Maria gasped. Her arms got weak and she felt like she just got punched in the stomach with something heavy. The panic at her face was real. Just like the woman standing in front of her.
"...Natasha?"
The woman lifted her head up, showing her face. The eyeliner and eyeshadow were smeared around her eyes. And her eyes, once glowing with green were now empty looking at Hill.
"Who the hell is Natasha."
