“Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the tributes of District 12: Alice Ivy Clade and Jesse Wilkins!”

It's strange how a few short seconds and ten words can change your life forever. Once a girl content with her music and days in the woods, sixteen-year-old Alice Ivy now finds herself thrown into a death arena with only two objectives: Get Jesse home and die as herself.

When, despite all of her planning, she finds herself the winner of the 67th Hunger Games, she learns that no one ever truly leaves the arena. With the cold gaze of President Snow firmly planted on her and her family, she must learn to survive the most cruel game of all: Life as a Victor. But can she keep her family safe? Can she ever allow herself to feel human again?

If Alice Ivy wants to live, she must begin to weigh survival against humanity, life against love, and honesty against security.

    Summary

There is an indefinite loneliness in being the daughter of a victor, coupled with so much expectation. It doesn't matter that the sea is stained red each year. Her place in it is obvious.

Ceres Osprey's plans are simple: volunteer for the Hunger Games, win, and become something beyond a legacy.

But in the throes of the 65th Hunger Games, Finnick Odair, her greatest adversary and only friend, being reaped and consequentially winning was not part of these great plans.

Her hand is stayed for his sake, because they share a similar loneliness.

    Promises are made.

But as the sun rises on the 68th Hunger Games' reaping, Ceres forgets her promises. She knows how to play the game and to survive, but it isn't about her.

This time, it isn't about winning.

Some legacies are greater than others, even if it means her blood spills for it.

This spans in parts from the 58th to prominently the 68th Hunger Games.

    Summary

Haymitch's daughter gets Reaped for the 68th Hunger Games.

    ---

A warm hand suddenly placed itself on my clothed lower back and I instantly spun around, on edge, grabbing the hand.

“Well, if you wanted to hold my hand so badly Miss Abernathy, you could’ve just asked.” A deep cocky toned voice filled my ears and I was met with turquoise eyes gazing into mine with a bright grin plastered across pink soft lips and an annoyingly chiselled jaw.

“Finnick Odair.” I observed, standing in front of me with an aura of charm surrounding him. I dropped his hand until he snatched it back up to press a gentle kiss over my silk gloved one. Snatching my hand back I scowled, “touch me again and you won’t have that hand next time.”

    Summary

They said the worst part of the Hunger Games wasn't the arena. It was surviving.
I didn't know just how right they were until it happened to me.
I was sixteen when they called my name — too kind, too soft, too human to survive the Hunger Games.
But I did. Somehow, I did. They carried me out of that arena with blood under my nails and screams stitched into my spine. The Capitol call me a victor. I call myself what's left. The cameras don't show what happens when the lights go out. They don’t show the way I wake up clawing at my throat. Or how I stare at my reflection like it’s someone else wearing my skin. The only things that keep me here — really here — are Finnick’s hands in mine, my mother’s fading heartbeat, and the little white pills he brings in from the Capitol. They’re supposed to help. And they do. Sort of. But the memories don’t go away — they just wait. Wait for the night. For the silence. For the crack in my voice when I try to say I’m fine.
    I’m not fine.
I don’t know if I’m a person anymore, or just a story the Capitol wrote with someone else’s blood. But I know this: if I still have a heart, it beats for the people I love.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough to keep breathing.
