Summary

Death was…unexpectedly polite, despite her actions. For the first few days there, she cursed and beat on the surrounding walls like an angry, old barnyard cat thrown into a tub of water. She was all screaming piss and vinegar. Any food or water dropped off by the door was ignored or grudgingly accepted. But, on the third night, as she laid asleep curled up, shivering and exhausted, she awoke to a blanket gently placed. Too blurrily eyed, head splitting from the collar and voice hoarse, no words of gratitude were given.
