Summary
Excerpt from chapter 1;
"Lord Voldemort watches as Harry’s shoulders tense as he steps forward, reaching his wandless hand out to the young man's face and tilting his chin with soft fingertips. Emerald green meets ruby red; the contrast of the two couldn’t be more noticeable. “I do not regret things Harry Potter, but I would be remiss to acknowledge that no longer having you as my enemy in that way would have been… interesting at the very least.” The lilting voice is soft, so unlike his usual harsh tone.
Harry huffs a single laugh, bright and cheerful, which makes him look younger at this moment. Tears sting Harry’s eyes. “So it wasn’t a lie back then?”
Tom swipes a tear from Harry’s cheek when one falls, smearing soot and blood along with it. “I have not lied to you Harry, not like the others I’ve been told of.” Lord Voldemort steps back once again, letting his hand fall away, and the boys head to bow."

Summary
'She’d been magnificent. So calm once it was over, so her. Laughing a little through the tears, brushing his cheek with her thumb and saying, “We made her, Rupert. Look what we made.”
And when he finally felt his eyes could move away from the love of his life, he looked.
And Rupert, who had stood on podiums and won medals and once walked into a bar to applause, had never felt prouder of anything than that tiny, squirming thing with a tuft of dark hair and her mother’s nose.'

Summary
Given that Dumbledore’s decisions and choices had led directly to Sirius’s death Harry didn’t really have it in him at the moment to care about his reputation or the Headmaster’s or whether people believed him about Voldemort’s return.
He’d done his part.
He’d been the sacrifice and witness, he’d tried to warn them, he’d fallen into the trap, he’d shown them all, if they still wanted to deny the truth and get themselves killed that wasn’t his problem anymore.
Especially since among all of the apologies and retractions and admittances of Voldemort’s return that he’d seen plastered across the Prophet not one of them carried the truth of Sirius.
His godfather had died just as reviled by the people he’d died in part to save as he’d lived and that...that made something hot and burning and dark catch fire in the core of him.
