Summary
When Eddard Stark is young, he goes to war. He rises up against his king, swears veangance in the name of his brother, in the name of his father. As part of that vengeance he must marry Catelyn Tully, even though he swore himself to Ashara Dayne. But he must honour the betrothal, and so he marries Lady Catelyn, sacrificing more than a marriage when he does.
Nine moons later Robb Stark comes wailing into the world with eyes as green as the forests.

From his uncomfortable position suspended in the air, Jon looks down at the girl standing with her hands on her hips. She is around his age, with bark brown hair in two braids, forest green eyes, and dressed in a brown hunting ensemble.
“Be quiet, stupid. You scared away the gods themselves!”
The indignation of being caught in a trap by a girl catches up to him. “Let me down! You shouldn’t have put your stupid trap there.”
“How else are you meant to catch game?” She yells up at him before untangling a rope and Jon falls to the ground with a thud.

House Rennard of the Wolfswood has long stood by House Stark, joined together by the large stretches of the forest and their inhabitants.
