Summary
House has been injecting himself with an experimental drug that regrows muscle for a while now, when he find out that the clinical trial is over because all the rats the drug was tested on developed tumors. After getting a contrast CT scan, he decides to remove cancerous tissue from his leg at home using a scalpel. Wilson finds him bloodied in his bathtub and realizes he tried the surgery himself because he was afraid a surgeon would remove more muscle. He insists on taking House to the hospital, but House has something else in mind.
It was the one thing Wilson had took from him without his permission – the awareness of House’s persistent unhappiness. Apart from that, he didn't know about anything House hadn't told him. Now, when he found him on the bathroom floor with his leg slit in half, red and swollen, he realised that he hadn't had the slightest idea how many things House had kept quiet about, how much he had hidden from him. He wouldn’t even know about it, would perhaps never find out or would find out too late.
