Summary
Draco Malfoy turns back to the microphone, pick between his teeth.
Alice leans in, “Hot, right?”
Hermione can’t even respond. Her eyes are wide with shock, eyebrows on a journey up her forehead.
He speaks adeptly around the pick, “Fuck, we’re glad you’re here. Are you having a good night?”
The crowd is wild for him.
He takes the pick out.
“Yeah? That fucking pleases me.”
A female voice screams out, “You please us Draco!”
He chuckles, “fuck yeah, baby.”
He runs a hand through the loose pieces of his hair, which have fallen out from the bun and end a bit above his chin, shoving it back out of his face.
“Aahhh,” he adjusts the strap of his guitar, “this next one’s new…”
Malfoy’s an unhurried, charismatic presence, a classic boy band heartthrob. Which makes no fucking sense.
“I wrote it for a girl.”
He pauses, and as soon as the cheering fades, he goes on, “I was a dick to her, and she’s fucking perfect, and I’d like to please her more than anyone.”
And then without any additional preamble he attacks the guitar strings.

Draco had expected to hear rant after rant about the rights of magical creatures and wizarding policies that were far too outdated. He’d expected to wake up with frizzy hair stuck in his mouth and to the sound of quiet snoring from the witch he'd thoroughly shagged the night before. He’d expected to be entertained by her five foot three powerhouse stature—excuse him, five foot three and three quarters stature—as she drew herself up to glare up at his six foot five frame and inform him of every fact he’d misquoted when discussing magical theory.
What he did not know going into the relationship were her insecurities about his life and the people in it, past and present. Nor how he would learn to deal with them.
