Dick has gone multiple years and lived multiple lives without the full context of what happened that night. As far as he's been aware, the night he stepped aside was the night blockbuster died, was the night he stayed in a ratty motel, was the night he thought about ending it all. It’s not something he tries to dwell on. It was a bad day for sure. But when he thinks of the extent of bad things that happened that night, that’s about as bad as it gets, right?
