“What do you want me to say?” He can’t say that he knows that there's something he can't bear to touch for free of being wrong. Or ruining it. That it doesn't matter anyway. They've picked their sides, their loyalties, their brands. There's no going back.

His hands stopped where they were in the air, inches from cupping the mech’s face. He intended to tilt his head to the side, so he could get a better look at what looks like a busted audial, but now he almost feels like he can’t. Like this is all a fabrication, and the slightest touch would make it disappear.
It can’t be Drift. It just can’t be.

Deadlock's not a fan of rut, just, generally speaking. It's itchy, it's annoying, that much charge buildup hurts if you don't deal with it, and the usual accepted 'fun' way to deal with it is to do the normal thing and go shove your spike in anyone happy to hold still long enough, usually across as wide a range of mechs as possible. Not his thing.
Ratchet, though. Ratchet is definitely more his speed.
