The remnant of the star’s core shrinks into a neutron star for moderately high-mass stars, or a black hole for very high-mass stars. Summary
Inexplicably drawn to visit a small Australian island, Hermione Granger crashes into Draco Malfoy's carefree surfer boi existence, much to their mutual disgust.
“You’re a dick, 'Jacko',” Hermione spat out. “What on earth are you playing at? You’re accusing me of Merlin-knows-what, when you’re the one living under an assumed name on an isolated island in bloody Australia!” She jabbed her forefinger into his wet-suited chest. “How dare you let Pete think we’re together? And stop calling me Harmony!”
“What am I playing at? I told you, I’m sticking to you like glue until I figure out what the hell you’re doing here, Harmony,” he snapped back.
“You curse like a uncouth bum – and I’m not ‘doing anything’, I’m on– holidays.” Her head dropped back onto the pillow, her eyes averted. “Just… just leave me alone.”
Draco almost felt a tiny twang of pity at the unfeigned exhaustion and suffering in her tone, but he hardened himself against her craftiness. He didn’t believe in coincidence; there was no way that Hermione Granger had turned up on his beach without knowing of his presence here...'
