    “I meant it.” She tightens her arms around herself, her expression hard. Maybe he imagines it, but he sees her falter for a second. It’s gone before he can think too much into it. “I will never trust you.”

    “I know.” He repeats the response like it’s second nature, the wave of déjà vu hitting him as he watches her turn and walk out of the stables. In the darkness, in the absolute silence of the empty ship, he hears stitches he’d weakly sewn in his chest tear, the all to familiar wounds reopening after he’d worked so hard to seal them up again.

    or, a heroes of olympus rewrite where annabeth had joined luke side during the titan war, and now she and percy need to fix all that broke between them.

    "O Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow," Chiron murmured, tossing the coin through the mist, "Show us what has happened on Mount Saint Helens."

    The mist shimmered, before showing them all an image of a once beautiful mountain now surrounded by clouds of ashen smoke and bright red lava. No sign of green in sight, all the trees destroyed.

    Pollux's eyes widened, Katie Gardner gasped, and Beckendorf clenched his fists so tightly they began to pale. All Annabeth could do was pray to her mother. Please, she thought on repeat, not him.

    "So…" Lee Fletcher started tentatively, "is Percy alive?"

    The thought that Percy died in the eruption shook everyone in the room to their core. Not only because he was a great and loyal friend, but because he was supposed to be the one of the great prophecy.

     

    In which following the eruption caused by Percy at Mount Saint Helens, instead of landing on Calypso's Island, Percy is thrown far back into the Labyrinth and captured by the titans. Annabeth must continue on her quest alone while Percy fights for survival.

    Apollo would recognize those eyes anywhere for how they haunt his dreams. They’re the same eyes that have graced Hyacinthus and Daphne and Commodus and every other name that’s been burned into his non-existent soul.

    “Say,” Apollo says, grabbing a napkin and a pen that wasn’t there a second ago. He writes down his phone number and looks up at Percy through his lashes. “You may hardly be an unsuspecting mortal, but what would you say to a drink?”

    Percy blinks, but then the surprise fades away and he looks at Apollo consideringly. He takes the napkin from Apollo and stares down at it for a moment.

    And then he looks back up at Apollo with a tentative smile. “I think I’d like that.”
