And… he likes it, for some reason. He likes being Red Robin, the woman. The idea of Red Robin being a man fills him with an echoing sense of wrongness. Maybe it's because he created the identity as a woman, but for whatever reason, the idea of it throws him off.
(Maybe he can have this. Maybe, after a year of self destruction for the sake of others, he can have something for himself. Even if he doesn't understand why he wants it.)
So when Tim suits up for patrol for the first time since he left to travel the world, he keeps the costume as it is, minus the cowl.
Red Robin is a woman. Tim drake is not, though. It takes a bit for her to figure it out.
