Summary
Ratchet has had enough of the Lost Light and enough of missing Drift. There's a simple solution to both: leave and find Drift. But watching as Rodimus is brought in to look at his own corpse without so much as a warning leaves Ratchet with a choice: he can leave and hope everything works itself out or he can step in. And Ratchet has never been content to leave things up to the universe when there's something he can do.
AKA Ratchet asks Rodimus to run away with him to look for Drift and they go on a road trip together

Hot Rod was still young. She’d seen things just as horrible as Arcee had, only far less of them. She probably hadn’t learned that anything hopeful and uncomplicated would invariably end up strapped to a conveyer belt, condemned to the closest smelting pool.
Arcee kicked the bunk again, hard enough that something in her foot snapped.
There was no place here for something soft.

Summary
Megatron is dead. That’s not a reality the DJD ever expected to face. Certainly not with the Decepticons in exile and so far from realizing Megatron’s dream of peace through tyranny. Betrayed by their fellow Decepticons, the DJD wander space pursuing their final mission: avenge Megatron and kill Optimus Prime. One problem: no bot seems to know where Optimus Prime is.
While the rest of the DJD are struggling to hold onto their will to live, double agent Vos finally feels like his work has meaning again. He’s the only Autobot that knows Longarm Prime is an enemy spy. But after so long without intel to share, he’s having a hard time keeping his priorities straight.

Stumbled across this again and this is THE DJD fic for me. This is my canon, no matter what anyone else says.
Such a perfect encapsulation of the office family vibes for the murder torture squad. And setting it in the tfa universe adds some really fun flavor, especially with the djd being on the outside of the rest of the decepticons.
Its also The Dominus Ambus fic for me. What a great insight into his mindset throughout his tenure as Vos, and the way he's grown attached to these horrible people. The tragedy of watching his relationship with the djd, knowing what is likely coming in the future, is compelling and horrifying. -
