Summary
He sat up, hesitating. He’d done it to Wallace, opening him up with his fingers. It hadn’t been too hard. He could just… try it once. See if he liked it. If he didn’t he’d never have to tell anyone. And if he did, maybe Wallace would -
I just think. It would be nice if Todd bottomed a little, ok.

“Tell me. Robert Robertson the Third. Mecha Man. Hero.” There’s something soft in the thing’s voice. Almost reverent. “What do you want?”
His body wants to shut down. His mind wishes for oblivion. The answer is obvious.
“Put me…back into…the fight.” He rasps.
“Very well,” he can hear it smiling, “let’s get to work.”
Or, in simpler terms…let’s do it all over again.

Summary
A grimy hand burst upwards from the ground.
Dirty nails like claws, scratched up scabby elbows. And then finally, a desperate, pale face emerged from the wet dirt, ragged gasps sinking into and being swallowed whole by the soft stillness of lingering twilight.
Disturbed birds fluttered, fleeing from the tallest branches of surrounding trees, as he ripped through the slimy placenta that cloaked over him like curdled oil. It pulled greedily back at him as he hastened to drag himself out from the forest floor.
His hair dripped caustic ooze, sticking to the back of his neck and steaming just a little at the ends. He wiped it out of his eyes as best he could with the back of his hand, and leveraging himself, scrambled backwards through mulch and pine straw until his back hit solid bark, shriveling up as small as he could make himself and scanning across the line of trees. The chirps and clicks of bugs echoed openly across the silence. He hoped they were bugs.
He sniffled, hiccuping softly, before his gaze drifted back down.
The hole was already closing up, dirt tumbling back into itself.
Before long, it looked like nothing but an anthill.

Summary
Robert Robertson is a man who puts himself in situations where powers would be pretty useful.
But he doesn't have them. What he does have is a mortal body made of breakable bones, cuttable skin, bruisable flesh, and other generally damageable stuff.
Maybe, at some point, he'll realize that he's got his limits. The way things are going, it's likely that the Z-team will identify them all before he does.“Hey Golem,” Invisigal called out. “What were you listening to while you were outside?”
Golem turned away from him to go join up with her, and Robert followed-- or he intended to. Something went wrong when he took a step to the side. He felt his body swaying.
“Woah.” Robert caught himself on the bench, next to Prism.
“Watch it,” said Prism. “The bar fight’s over, boy. Don’t go knocking yourself out now.”
Robert laughed under his breath. “Yeah, that would be stupid, huh.” -

They've grown accustomed to not having any backup - nobody really wanted to stick their neck out for some ex-villains. In a way, it helped them rely on each other more.

Summary
One night in November of 1983, a boy goes missing from Hawkins, Indiana.
He is just a body, a thick cuff locked around his ankle, chained with iron to a bolt on the hardwood floor. He is just a body, locked inside of a bedroom with an empty closet, a bed, a nightstand, and a cage. He doesn’t look at the cage if he can help it. He looks outside. He is just a body, staring out at a backyard he’s never been allowed to enter, where the grass is starting to brown from the heat of the sun. All he can see is dusty grass and tall trees, and a little shed at what must mark the edge of the property.
Only there is a body. Another body. A real human body—only, that can’t be right. Steve hasn’t seen anyone in … he doesn’t know how long it’s been, since the blonde man took him here. The blonde man doesn’t want him to see anyone, to be seen by anyone. All he wants is for Steve to be his, and to turn Steve into a body.
The other body is in the yard, moving on clever legs with slow graceful steps. His head swivels from side to side quickly as if he is looking for something. It makes his long curls sweep across his shoulders.
