    Taking a beating meant for Clint just because he looks like him is easy. It's in his nature. It is exactly what Barney was born to do. Protect his little brother in ways that people just cannot understand. The arrows, the bruises, and the almost killing him. Warped protection that ends with that girl leaving with the dog. Clint's cleaning him up and shaky. Maybe this is the first time someone took the chance to leave his little brother before he had left them.

    It sucks to care again like that. It sucks to have watched Clint's hands shake so much while he signed that he got annoyed and shoved a single hearing aid into his brother's ear just so he could fucking hear himself talk instead. The aggravation had died out when Clint had asked if he could get Kate to bring some of her arrows as replacements. The ones that were here were used to kill the kid. Barney threw them out with a little wince that a few were those trick arrows his little brother crafted carefully. He can make new ones. He can learn how and make them with just as much care. Take them to his brother and try to weave a smile out of his face.
