I was listening to "Stalker's Tango" by AutoHeart and I couldn't help think of Solas(after betraying the Inquisition and leaving in the DLC) that he finds himself unable to dream because he is tortured by spirits who take the form of the female elvhen inquisitor and cause him to feel regret for leaving. This is my first work so I'm not sure what tags or warnings to include so discretion may be advised.

It started small— so subtle Spamton hardly noticed it. Over the span of weeks he found himself gravitating towards his partner as though reeled in by string, closer and closer each day.
It all felt so natural, so deeply innate, that his brain tuned out all the warning signs to let him sink deeper and deeper, all the while entirely unaware of the hole that’d opened up beneath his feet.
It wasn’t until a certain…incident occurred that he finally snapped to reality.
