He started to sit up, then froze when everything suddenly became much shorter. “Oh, something’s gone really wrong, hasn’t it?” he realized aloud, refocusing on Arthur. He seemed to be trying to creep around the edge of the clearing, keeping as much space between him and Merlin as possible. “Don’t be like that, you prat,” Merlin chided. “I might have been turned into a—“ he looked down at himself, seeing two very big, very clawed forelegs,“—dragon, but it’s still me.”

“Then can I have some water too?” Amelia said, then paused to think. “And a lolly?”

The whole foggy memory comes rushing back, leaving a taste like tainted water in her mouth, and she hurries to keep talking before anything else can escape the cage she built and overwhelm her along with it. “I mean, like— like fluently and everything?”
