Summary
Murderbot is at a party.
This is not a normal state of affairs for SecUnits. Neither is the comfy clothes or the sitting or the way the humans keep smiling in its general direction. The smiling, it suspects, will stop, if/when they realise their SecUnit has suffered some sort of catastrophic glitch and has no idea where it is or the specifics of its current assignment.
So it's not going to let them find out.

Thankfully, unlike my memories, my media was still accessible. (Okay, maybe I had my priorities backwards. No one said murderbots were smart.) I was momentarily unsettled when I saw a lot of it was missing… but it looked like I’d just replaced a bunch of it with new stuff. Basically my top favourites were there, including all of The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon. There were even five more seasons than I remembered!
I started watching.

“What level of amnesia are we talking here?” she asked.
“I don’t know, that’s kind of the point.” I stopped, and resisted the urge to shoot myself in the head. SecUnits can’t go around saying things like that. -
Summary
The situationship that is Murderbot and ART -- they are devoted to each other. There is humor, angst, and a happy ending.

If I were perfect, we wouldn't get along. You would be bored, and so would I. I did not choose to be your devotee because I desire perfection. I chose you because you are you. You are fascinating to me as you are. We will each adapt our processing as we gain more experience, but neither of us will become perfect. We can safely leave such useless endeavors to the likes of Holism.

“We do,” the ComfortUnit’s smile didn’t waver.
Over the feed, ART was adding, It’s BABE. All caps. An acronym.
The ComfortUnit was nodding. “It stands for Brave, Astute, Beautiful, Ethical.” It shrugged almost bashfully. “All of its best features.”
