   Summary

   Jawbone did not like to sleep alone. He never had, long gotten used to the comfort of being surrounded by people, even when he slept. Maybe that was why he woke up in the middle of the night, or maybe it was a sort of sixth sense for something feeling wrong.

   Either way, when he woke with a start to an empty bed, he couldn’t keep the uneasy feeling from curling around in his stomach.
