Summary
Builder Brother’s Pizzeria goes up in flames. Unfortunately, it appears one lonely worker was not able to escape the fire quickly enough...Upon waking up, he realizes he’s in a hospital unable to see ever again.
He takes a long time to recover, having to come to terms with the realization that he can never see anybody’s face again, that he has to find out how to live in a world not created for him. His family hires a bodyguard for him, Chance, and he doesn’t want a bodyguard but what can he do about it? He cries a lot, but despite it all, he returns to work. He wants to prove to people that you can keep going no matter what happens, and he succeeds.
One of those days he meets a new man named Tony, and Elliot treats him just as he would any other customer - why would he treat him differently? However, he has noticed Chance’s distaste for him, but they haven’t said anything about it so he ignores it. He’s sure his bodyguard has taste in friends too, and that’s alright!
The reason is because Tony is a mafia boss. Chance knows that, he’s a police officer and has seen that same outfit so many times before, but he can’t risk Elliot, so he keeps quiet.
