Summary
After leaving behind their broken clans, the survivors of the Great Destruction have done more than just endure; they’ve thrived, established new territory, became PhoenixClan. The first year of PhoenixClan may have been struck by tragedy, but nothing compared to the horrors that came before. At last, they’re safe from the Twoleg threat.
Unbeknownst to the PhoenixClan cats, a formidable foe lurks in the shadows of the forest, and each day it ventures closer and closer to the safe haven they’ve built themselves. It’s a threat that many of them have never seen before, but to Riverbriar, it’s all too familiar.
As the ocean laps at the sandy shore, PhoenixClan must stand together against this threat, lest they face the same desolation as they had just a year ago.

Summary

Home, to Ava, is flannel-backed chairs and worn quilts and lacy placemats and a rocking chair they find abandoned on the side of the road.
Home, to Beatrice, is Ava’s hand in her own as she drags Beatrice through the kitschy home store four towns over and Ava’s shout of triumph when she finds a matching set of salt and pepper shakers and Ava’s waggling eyebrows when they buy the bed that she (again) calls ours.
