Summary
Peter didn’t mean to become the alpha, Derek had never meant to come back to Beacon Hills, and Stiles hadn’t meant to become a werewolf. Just because you don’t mean for something to happen doesn’t mean it’s not something good. Sometimes the things we think are the worst possible scenario end up being the best things to happen to us. Maybe, just maybe, these things were actually meant to be.
Book 1: How It's Mean to Be: A season 1 AU starting from episode 9, ‘Wolf’s Bane’ where Peter bites Stiles that night in the hospital. This starts a chain reaction of events that leads to everything playing out very differently than canon. Peter learns how to be a better alpha, Derek learns how to let people back into his life and Stiles finds out what pack can really mean.

This is the way the world works: the sun rises in the east. The strong come out on top. Bakugou Katsuki rockets through life like a comet and Midoriya Izuku stumbles after. If he believed in such things Katsuki would say it was written in the stars. That some god of war had looked at him and said this one. That he’d been passed along a line to get his blessings – genius, willpower, fearless ambition – and dropped off on earth.
Then, of course, there is the question of Deku. The spitfire runt. Deku, no matter what the world does to him, never stops hoping.
Until, of course, he eventually does.
(Katsuki broke him. Snapped him in half like a twig and now has to scramble to put Deku back together. “We can do this, Deku," he says slowly. "There are so many mysteries that never got put to bed. Criminals roaming around looking to hurt people and you and me, we can fix that.”
There’s a long pause. The comforter slips a little off Deku’s skinny shoulders and drowns him. “You mean like a team?”
In that split second, Katsuki makes a decision he’s never even considered. He swallows his pride. “Yeah, Deku. We’d be a team.”)

No matter what the goons at Hydra do, no matter how often they recalibrate the Asset, the song is always there. Always in it's head. A woman singing.
No matter what everyone says, Tony Stark doesn't have a Soulmate. It's fact. Sometimes a song pops up in his head, but it's nothing like everyone describes it. Just a catchy tune, nothing else. But no melody or song comparable to his Soulmate. So, he just doesn't have one. No big deal, right? No one who loves him unconditionally. Yeah... no big deal.
