“We are having protective feelings,” Steven explains into his pillow, but still technically to Layla. “And we are conflicted for how to proceed.”
“Ah,” Layla says. “Well, what do you want to do?”
Jake wants to grab the kid by the shoulders, tell him that everything will get better, and slip as much money onto his utility belt as possible. Marc wants to establish, at minimum, weekly check-ins. Steven, honestly, wants to keep bringing Spider-Man back to their spare room until he gets the memo. They are disagreeing heavily on what counts as being too dramatic.
