"…If displaced, it will attempt to return to the nearest wooded area…"
Our Peter Jacob is back on the job after a six week "nervous health" sabbatical, but it would seem that the so-called Secret World has gone a bit quiet in his absence. This is good news for underleveled Templar mooks, but bad news for occult photographers who happen to make a living in hot pursuit of supernatural snapshots for the Council of Venice. After spending a week chewing either "the fat" or "the fingernails", Peter finally gets a bone chucked at the ol' bonce, courtesy of Temple Hall: A Fata Pădurii, dead and ready for its close-up!
Alas, that red-hot lead takes a rummy turn when Peter has a downright spine-chilling encounter with an old (and we do mean old) acquaintance in East Enson Park. No points for reading the tags and guessing who!
※ Crossover/Fusion AU - Ealdwic, London, c. 1930 AD. ※ Includes bonus chapter with additional headcanon material! ※

Yet another Archival Piece making its way from the Swilly Vault! My inspiration for this work was the canon "Black Rose/Bad End AU" side story "A World Forsaken". There, we learn that Cid, Nero, and other Ironworks employees survived the Black Rose catastrophe because at the time, they were in The Burn, doing maintenance on the magitek field generators at Seiryu's Wall.
This story relates a little incident that happened during that maintenance expedition—specifically one that involves an aetherosolar-powered Magitek pylon and a magpie. However, it doesn't necessarily have to happen in the Bad Ending AU (and it contains no spoilers about "A World Forsaken"). It's just a funny, cute story and nothing horrible happens, pinky swear! 😇

"Look to the heavens and see it shine!" - The Hooters
Behold! Another tidbit from the Swilly Vault that I'm posting here for archival purposes! Like so many other works I've posted here, I'm reasonably sure this was supposed to be a part of a larger story, but things simply didn't turn out that way. Similar to Lies the Seed, this is another story in the "Cid visits Nero in the hospital and they ramble on like middle-aged men" genre that would've taken place during the 4.2-4.5 era. Yes, good old Omega! (Try not to think too hard about how long ago that was...)
It's in first person and the incomparable Nero Scaeva is our narrator; I think this is actually another 80's AU as well. I'm sorry that I don't have any more information on what this scene was supposed to become! I hope you enjoy reading it anyway. 🐊

A modest collection of very short stories I wrote about NieR Automata. Honestly, "stories" is a bit generous a term here (and so is "short" if we get right down to it); these aren't quite as short as drabbles, but still short and sketchy. So… dribbles then? (Can androids dribble? Or dunk, for that matter? 🏀) Vignettes? Let's go with vignettes. Anyway, whatever you call 'em, they mostly involve Pascal, my favorite character in Automata.
I'm really just posting these to AO3 for personal archival purposes. However, if you read them anyway, I hope you enjoy!

A small compilation of funny little shorts about Mario RPG that are, uh, quite brief! Hence the title! Get it? 👙 There are seven super-short stories (like seven stars), plus a summary for an imaginary episode of "The Super Mario RPG Super Show" and a couple scrappy little bits to cap the whole thing off. Kind of like the crumbs at the bottom of a packet of cookies.
I'm really just posting this here for personal archival purposes, but if you read it, I hope you like it anyway. For the record, my favorite character in Mario RPG is Bundt... 🎂

The Serpent Isle Irregulars - An Ultima VII Pt. 2 AU by LadySwillmart
Fandom Ultima (Video Games)
04 Jan 2025
Summary
This is (or will be) a work of serial fanfiction set in the world of Ultima VII Part 2: Serpent Isle; it's the successor to my earlier, similar series "The Meadowtron" (which I'm leaving up for archival purposes). Its setting is semi-AU, meaning that while most of it cleaves to the game's canon, I've also changed a couple things around a bit. For my Serpent Isle stories, I like to focus on whom I've dubbed The Serpent Isle Irregulars—the Avatar's other companions, most of whom join only briefly and for a specific purpose, some of whom get zapped by lightning or turned to dust within a few lousy minutes of joining up. Happily for them, I'm exercising my god-like authorial authority and letting everyone live and stick around until (and beyond) the end.
