Skye thought that surely in the last six hours that they had spent with their cousins that they had figured out the dynamic between the Fishers and their lifelong best friends, the Conklins. They observed the easy camaraderie between their cousins and Steven and also the playful teasing towards Belly from the all boys - assuming at first that it was brotherly in nature as it seemed to be towards Steven.
But that assumption was quickly swept aside within the first hour at the boardwalk. The Fisher brothers both gravitated around Belly like planets around the sun. Spinning in and out of her eye line, looking back towards her with questions or comments, cutting in when the other had her attention for longer than two minutes. Gazing at her wistfully when she wasn’t looking.
