    Sure, maybe his four-going-on-five-year-long crush on Shouto is painfully obvious to everyone else, but Shouto himself hasn’t picked up on it and Izuku is perfectly content to leave it that way. Izuku is pretty sure that the correct term for what they are is “friends with benefits”. They’re both so busy with hero work that neither one of them has any time to put effort into an actual relationship, but what they can’t have in feelings they make up for in sex.

    Lots of sex.

    “Why does it have to be him?” Katsuki blurts out, because really, that’s what he wants to know. “Of all of the fucking people in the world, why does it have to be him?”

    “I was confused about it at first too,” Kirishima admits. He sits up a little straighter. “I mean, you guys fucking hated each other for the longest time. You couldn’t even be in the same room together without getting into an argument or breaking a table.” He laughs a little. Katsuki doesn’t understand how any of this is funny. “Then one day, you guys came into work and… you smelled like him. Everything calmed down after that. It was like all of that hatred and tension was just your way of trying to process your feelings for one another. Once you guys finally, uh, talked it out, things got better.”

    (In which Katsuki Bakugou is attacked and loses all recollection of his relationship with Izuku and has to learn to fall in love with him all over again. Faced with a hero case involving a serial killer and missing omegas, Katsuki needs to learn to put aside his own prejudice and open himself up to truth.)
