Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

Summary
The man in front of him pulls Jinu forward and whispers into his ear.
“I’ve been dreaming of the day I get one of you in my lab for years. And with a pretty little songbird like you? Just imagine all the fun we can have.” The man leans back, studying Jinu’s face with a look that made him feel like an animal in a zoo.
“Look at those patterns,” he breathes, trailing a thumb under Jinu’s eye and down his cheek. “Beautiful.”
Jinu feels nausea crawl up his throat and tries to jerk out of the hold the hunter has on him, but it’s a little hard to control his movements at the moment and the hand is painfully tight. Panicking, he tries to teleport away, but nothing happens.

AU of KPDH where instead of just Huntrix, there's a whole organization of demon hunters. Demons don't actually die when they're killed, they just get sent back to the underworld. Upon realizing this, the hunters begin to capture demons to experiment with ways to kill them for good. Jinu gets to learn first-hand what this entails.Bookmarked by LiloPie3

Summary
Rumi watched as the figure, adorned in his black hanbok and gat, descended from above like an angel of death. Jinu. There was no mistaking it. It was actually him. It was clear he was in his demon form. She could see the glow of his golden eyes, looking right at her.
“Pray for me now…” The chanting increased. Loud and deep.
This wasn’t right.
Something was wrong.
Abruptly, like a puppet who had its strings cut, Jinu fell to the ground, landing harshly on the stage with a resounding thud.
The crowd screamed.
_________________________________Jinu comes back to Rumi broken. She has to work with friends, family and enemies to help get his soul back before it’s too late, while learning dark secrets about her heritage and the life of the demon boy she loves along the way.

The path opened onto a grove of petrified trees, shadowed flora. Beneath the largest tree, half-lit by the red glow of the distant inferno, sat the target of her search.
Her pulse raced.
His back was to her, dark hair long now, loosely braided down his back. His inky claws plucked the strings, unhurried, each note floating in the stillness.
“Jinu,” she breathed.
