Zoey was so done. “Fuck you,” Her hands shook as she shoved the empty bottle into Mira’s hand, pushing at her chest weakly. “You promised Mira, you promised.”
Mira scoffed, pushing past her to stumble toward the couch. “Yeah, well—promises don’t mean much anymore, do they, princess?”
Zoey’s heart dropped, and she tried to keep her voice from cracking. “What…what is that supposed to mean?”
OR
Rumi’s dead.
She’s dead and she’s not coming back.
Mira and Zoey don’t know what to do anymore.

Summary
Zoey had known she'd live and die in the metal cage of The Ark since she was young. Everyone did. They weren't the generation meant to be heading to the ground, they were there to fill the gap, waiting in transit before their ancestors could return to their place on Earth -- when it was free from the radiation man had pumped through its roots.
She knew she'd never even get the chance for her blood to be a part of that generation when she was arrested.
She was wrong.
100 juvenile prisoners to be sent to a radiation soaked ground on the council's whim, she supposed it was just her luck she was a part of them. At the very least, she could take comfort in that she wouldn't be dying alone.
