Summary
“Scoot over,” he says.
Raphael sighs, but wisely doesn’t fight it. He shifts to the left side of his bed and watches with hooded eyes as Simon makes himself comfortable next to him.
Simon rolls up the sleeve on his left arm.
“Simon,” Raphael says and he sounds drained. Bad day indeed.
“Don’t even bother. You’re worse today.” He holds up his arm to Raphael’s mouth. “C’mon.”
The sting of Raphael’s teeth sinking into his arm is familiar and the pain fades quickly, giving way to something warm and swirling that takes root deep inside him. He smiles because Raphael didn’t put up as much of a fight as he normally does. He lets his eyes flutter to a close and then he floats. He can feel each place Raphael aches and the bloodlust that is being sated. It’s a heady feeling.

“Could be worse,” he says. It’s a half truth. It doesn’t feel bad, mostly because the area has already begun to go numb, which might be worse. “Might be poisoned, though. Stupid thing was probably venomous.”
“Shit. Is it…?”

Macaque snorts. “Guess we'll have to sit here and find out, huh?”
