Summary
Lily Evans turns up to platform nine and three quarters with her parents, a wand, an owl, a trunk full of clothes and books and parchment, and her best friend.
Sirius Orion Black turns up with all that, minus one best friend and plus one sibling. They pass each other on the platform at one point, Lily looking around in wonder, Sirius hurrying onto the train and out of the watchful gaze of his mother.
James Fleamont Potter does not pass either of them on the platform, because in his excitement to finally get to Hogwarts he forgets his owl and his trunk, so his father has to apparate home to get them, and James very nearly misses the train.
Remus Lupin barely even believes he's here. He spends the whole of summer ignoring the hope on the horizon- there’s this fear, tucked into the back of his throat, that if he’s too excited about it, it might be snatched away.

this may be a fix-it fic, but there's seven years and a war to go before it gets there. This is a love letter to the fandom i've been in for the longest, and so really it does deserves to be the longest thing i've ever written.

It started with blood, and it’ll likely end in blood.
I told myself it was just hatred. Perfectly reasonable. Rational. Justified, even. But the years passed, and I started noticing things I shouldn’t. A powerful scent. Artist hands. His voice in a crowd, even when I wasn’t looking for it.
But it wasn’t hatred. Hatred has sharp edges, clear reasons. An exit. This was… quieter. Slower. Like a thread being pulled from the inside out. I didn’t notice how much of me Landon King was taking until I had already started to fray.
And when the unthinkable happens, Landon uses the full force of my obsession against me.
Soon we’re tangled in a web of strings that’d be impossible to unravel.
To try would lead to utter devastation.

WARNING: As of October 2025, this series is currently undergoing major edits. I originally wrote it during a manic episode (while pregnant!) and rushed to get to certain scenes, which meant I skipped over some plot changes I wanted and went way overboard with the fluff. (It will still be fluffy, promise)
Think of this as a “coming back soon, better than ever” situation. I’ve taken a lot of helpful feedback from the comments, and this time I’m working with beta readers. Because of that, many parts of the story may be updated or changed.

He’d be laser-focused—honestly, truly—if his boyfriend, Harry Bloody Potter, didn’t keep derailing his concentration with heart eyes, rolled-up sleeves, and that insufferably perfect smile.He’s constantly torn between kissing Harry breathless or strangling him for being recklessly heroic—again.
Meanwhile, the fifth years are throwing secret parties like it’s their last year alive—and honestly, Draco’s not sure they’re wrong.
