Summary
Bruce moves to touch Clark, to get his hands all over that beautiful body. He grasps the poetic muscle of Clark’s shoulders for a moment, and then– “No,” Clark says, and blurs briefly, and Bruce’s hands slam up against the mattress. Clark’s hand circles around his wrists almost gently, but when Bruce flexes experimentally his grip is iron and unyielding.

"Bruce." Clark turns towards him, leaning back against a bank of consoles. "We're not actually going undercover. We don't need an elaborate backstory– if anything, it'll be harder to keep straight. It doesn't have to be complicated." He spreads his hands. "Here's a story: we're members of the same elite fighting force. After years of saving each other's lives in the field, we fell in love. That's it."
Bruce swallows past the almost-truth of it. In Clark's warm smooth radio voice, it sounds plausible. It sounds like something that could happen.

Summary
Bruce Wayne knows, as the vigilante Batman, that the superhero Superman is also the kryptonian Kal-El. But now he knows, as the billionaire Bruce Wayne, that Superman, the superhero, might also be the journalist Clark Kent. And the journalist Clark Kent knows the billionaire Bruce Wayne, but he doesn't know that he is the vigilante, Batman.
Or does he?
And is Bruce even sure that his inkling that the bumbling Kansas reporter moonlights as Superman, or vice versa, is right?
It's all very confusing. And the sleep-deprivation really isn't helping.
But surely, a little private dinner just to figure things out can't hurt right?
He's just trying to get to know Clark Kent a little better, that's it.
