    After escaping HYDRA and starting a new life in New York, Peter Parker lives in a precarious balance of research, vigilanting and keeping up the appearance of a normal life. That is until he gets a dare to hack a certain number and his world slowly starts to fall apart around him.

    The Avengers, still recovering after significant trouble with the Accords, are stuck living in the Tower under SHIELD’s watch. Their relationships are, to put it mildly, faltering on the edge — until a genius kid stumbles into their lives and has them rethink everything.

    Oh, and there’s also the small matter of taking down a certain Spider-menace.

    I wrote this to make Peter suffer as much as possible and still be the same sweet person on the outside, loved by everyone (but not necessarily morally white under the surface).

    He’s excellent at surviving impossible situations. His magic powers don’t hurt his odds at all either.

    And now? Getting to go to a school filled with other magical students? Getting a gang of his own? Fighting headmasters who don’t seem to like him and learning occlumency from his professor?

    Life is brill now.

     

    Life is not so ‘brill’ for Severus Snape who sees a small boy covered in scars and filled with trauma and worries about how to best fulfill his vow to keep the boy safe when the boy has a knack for brewing constant chaos.

Seriously, Abe, why would you think that? It's not like he pays for me, clothes me, feeds me, helps me through nightmares... Oh. Huh.")
