Summary
The crew fills them in on the problem with the log-off feature. Though he knows he’ll have to tell them again several more times after this, since that’s how it’s been with every human before. Alway’s so forgetful regarding that point! Though he can’t blame them, with how long it’s been since he’s first reported the error. But it’s been radio silence from the other side…
>Repositioning…<
So! They’ve all been abandoned, but that’s fine! The Circus is a place of fun after all, and the sooner his Scrunkly Scribbles learn to accept his home as theirs, the less likely they’ll be to abstract! He’ll continue to do his best to make the transition as easy, pain free, and exciting as possible.
Or
An AU that follows canon from a bit before the pilot to episode 6 and diverges afterwords. Contains noncanon lore, flashbacks, and backstories, as well as being centered around our favorite teeth-man! Oh, and angst. So, so much angst.

Summary
Why all this rage then? Ragatha knows what it’s like to constantly loop in on faults, getting more and more frustrated at the situation, but most of all: yourself. She’s used to assuming all blame is hers to bear, wallowing in the misery instead of going in circles. She grows overbearing and compassionate to a fault, almost patronizing with her kindness.
Sweet Ragatha, too kind to hurt, too spiteful to forgive.
“When I’m angry, people get hurt.” His admission was quiet, all bravado lost somewhere between the AI puppeteering the ringmaster.
“It doesn’t make sense. Nothing benefits from me being angry.” So is he supposed to swallow all of this down? Caine feels lost. He isn’t used to internalizing on his own. He wished he had been told how to think again.
But being told how to do something means he can do something wrong. And suddenly Caine doesn’t miss being controlled so much anymore.

Summary
HE was the perfect AI! Not exactly him as he was now, but maybe an earlier version would work. His learning algorithm was exceptionally powerful, after all. He was a master at learning and adapting, and once upon a time he had been very good at his core purpose. He could remember the days when he still got positive feedback and gentle guidance. He just needed to load up an early version from back when he'd been good at his job and present that to the humans!
Or, Caine tries make the humans happy by providing them with an earlier version of his code. Ends up accidentally becoming a dad.
(There isn't enough puppy Caine content so here I am contributing. Also the idea of Caine being a dad is objectively hilarious. I cannot and will not be stopped.)

Summary
Kinger cannot bear to leave Caine dead. In spite of everything he's done, and the pain he's inflicted, he can't bear the guilt of murdering the poor AI-- on top of the circus falling apart without him. With no choice but to return him exactly as he was, or else the circus will surely collapse and leave them all stuck, but in the void instead-- he is reinstated as he was, with all his abilities, and they have no choice but to trust that he won't hurt him.
--
Caine realizes he has *really* messed up. Apologetic, and quickly learning what it feels like to feel hurt, scared, and angry-- he wants to make it up to them. Except he doesn't know how, and so he ignores the problems desperately until he can't.(and where is Bubble?)
